This client was a traditional family man who worked hard to provide for his loved ones. But suddenly, he was served with a notice of subpoena by his internet service provider to disclose his personal information, meaning he was being served with a lawsuit. Needless to say, he was taken aback. After doing some research, he found plenty of misinformation on the internet about the process and legal consequences for ignoring the lawsuit. 

He then decided to reach out to our firm, Rosenblum Law. During the initial consultation, we walked him through the different avenues that his copyright infringement case could take, discussed the works involved in the lawsuit, and provided our professional opinion on how we could resolve the matter while preserving his confidentiality. 

Based on the statutory allowance of $150,000 per work, the maximum damages would have been over $7 million. However, in a matter of months we were able to settle for only $16,500 and dismiss the case. This saved the client over $7.1 million by settling rather than having to pay the maximum statutory damages. He never had to worry about these allegations hanging over his head again.
